Every Thursday the Library receives a delivery of fresh produce, which is available for free to anyone on a first come, first served basis. We don’t know what we will get in each delivery, but expect fresh greens in the late spring; tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant in the high summer; hearty greens in the fall; and storage crops like carrots and potatoes throughout the winter. The refrigerator is located in the New & Popular area off the Glen Street Entrance.
The Farm-2-Library Program is made possible through a partnership with the Southern Adirondack Library System and Comfort Food Community. We are thankful to the Health Promotion Center of Glens Falls Hospital, funded by the NY State Department of Health, for the grant to purchase the refrigerator, produce bins, and recyclable bags.
