Programs and Services - Computer Classes
Crandall Public Library offers a variety of free computer classes including computer basics, Microsoft Word, e-mail, and internet searching. Special classes on resumes & cover letters, Facebook and blogging are also offered. Classes are 1.5 hours in length unless specified otherwise.
Introduction to Computers (Very Basic)
This class offers hands-on training on the basic components of computers, using the keyboard and the mouse and navigating in Windows.
Introduction to Internet
Learn the basics of Internet browsing, toolbars and drop-down menus.
Intermediate Internet
This class is about how to use subject directories and search engines to search more easily and effectively. Introduction to Internet is strongly recommended before taking this class if you are new to computers.
Email (2 part class: Basic and Intermediate Email)
In this two-part class you will sign up for a free email account and then learn how to check your email, send and reply to messages. In the second class you will learn about sending and downloading attachments, working with folders, saving drafts, and using the address book. Introduction to Internet is strongly recommended before taking this class if you are new to computers.
Microsoft Word (2 part class: Basic and Intermediate Word)
Learn the basics of word processing with this two-part class including writing letters, papers, and much more. Introduction to Computers is strongly recommended before taking these two classes.
