About the Legend

The vibrant renovation design and plan adds needed space with minimal impact on our much-loved City Park. The project will build on what we have, combining the best of old and new. Your new Library will:

• be easier to navigate, to use, and to browse comfortably.
• offer a more spacious Children's Department with easily reached materials, Activity Room, Family Focus Center, and a new Teen Center.
• have quiet, cozy, well-lighted reading areas and three working fireplaces.
• include additional customer service desks.
• incorporate convenient new self check-out technology.
• offer a well-quipped, enhanced computer lab.
• have a larger Community Room with quality lighting and sound.
• incorporate wider staircases and aisles to be more accessible to everyone.

Recognition Options

All Donors

• Any Amount: Your name will be included in the dedication ceremony booklet.
• $250 to $4,999: Your name will be imprinted on the glass banister in the Library’s main atrium.**
• $5,000+ : Your name will be beautifully highlighted on the Major Donor Wall in the Library’s main atrium.**
• $7,500 and above: Exclusive recognition options offering engraved plaques in specific rooms and areas of the new Library.

Cash gifts or pledges of $5,000 or more are eligible for Empire Zone Capital Credits, which qualify the donor to a NYS Income Tax credit of 25% of the contribution. (Pledges must be completed by July 2011 to be eligible for Empire Zone Credits.)

Special options

Children's Library Book Plate

Have your contribution recognized with a Continue the Legend book plate inside the front cover of a book in the Children's Library Collection.

• $20: Book plate may list the donor or be used to honor or remember a loved one.

Children's Tile Wall

The special child(ren) in your life can become a legendary part of the new Crandall Public Library. When you buy a tile, your child’s artwork will be included in a tile wall prominently and beautifully featured in the new Children’s Library.

• $250: A full-color, 6x8 inch wall tile reproduction of your child’s artwork.

Bookshelf End Panels*

Demonstrate your commitment to the Legend of Crandall Public Library while honoring your family, business, or loved one with a plaque located on a Library book shelf end panel:

• $1,000: End panel plaque is shared with two other donors
• $2,500: End panel plaque is shared with one other donor
• $5,000: End panel plaque is exclusively yours
