Computer Literacy Classes

Crandall Public Library offers several free computer classes to the public to promote information literacy. The classes cover Internet basics, Microsoft Word, e-mail, Health Info Online, and Internet Searching.
Classes are 1.5 hours in length unless specified otherwise.

Introduction to Internet
This class offers beginning and hands-on training on the basic components of computers, using the keyboard and the mouse, navigating in Windows, beginning Internet browsing and learning about toolbars and drop-down menus. Free and open to the public.

Intermediate Internet
This class is about how to use subject directories and search engines to search more easily and effectively. Introduction to Internet class is strongly recommended before taking this class if you are new to computers. Free and open to the public.

E-mail
In this two-part class you will sign up for a free Internet e-mail account using Yahoo!, and then learn how to check your e-mail, send messages, and reply to messages. In the second class you will learn about sending and downloading attachments, working with folders, saving drafts, and using the address book. Introduction to Internet class is strongly recommended before taking this class if you are new to computers. Free and open to the public.

Microsoft Word (2 part class: Basic and Intermediate Word)
In these classes you would learn to write letters, papers, and much more. Learn the basics of word processing with this two-part class! Introduction to Internet class is strongly recommended before taking these two classes. Free and open to the public.

Health Information Online
Learn to search the health website, MedlinePlus, for information on diseases & conditions, medications, physicians and more. Introduction to Internet class is strongly recommended. Mouse & Keyboard skills required. Free and open to the public.
